RECAP: Vietnam & Japan Green Export Connection Conference

On the afternoon of March 30, 2026, the GEVA Project, in collaboration with ANPz, successfully organized the Vietnam – Japan Green Export Connection Conference with the online participation of 50 businesses.

At the conference, speakers provided in-depth and practical insights:

International customs clearance and logistics experts presented in detail the process of importing food into Japan, emphasizing 3 mandatory legal requirements: plant quarantine, food safety inspection, and customs declaration.

Analysis of common risks during the export process such as documentation errors and failure to pass inspection, which lead to delayed customs clearance, incurred costs, or returned goods.

Recommendation for businesses to conduct pre-export testing according to international standards to minimize risks.

The representative from ANPz provided a market perspective:

Japan is a market with a stable demand for high-quality products.

However, strict standard requirements and differences in business culture require businesses to have appropriate approach strategies.

Some important recommendations for businesses:

- Implement small-scale testing before expanding.

- Adjust products to suit market tastes and regulations.

- Build a long-term approach roadmap and maintain prestige with partners.

The conference contributed to providing practical information while opening up connection opportunities between Vietnamese businesses and partners in Japan.
